This class was recorded with a live audience (and crickets chirping!) and you'll see and hear me talking and assisting students.
In this yoga class, the peak pose is Wild Thing, also known as Camatkarasana. The class begins with a gentle warm-up followed by specific poses to prepare the body for the peak pose. The class focuses on opening the shoulders and hips to prepare for Wild Thing.
Once the body is warmed up, the class moves into Wild Thing, a challenging but rewarding pose that involves extending one arm and lifting the hips to create a backbend. This pose strengthens and stretches the entire body, particularly the shoulders, chest, core, and hips. It also helps to improve balance and coordination, while promoting a sense of joy and playfulness.
Throughout the class, cues emphasising the importance of proper alignment and breathing, encouraging students to listen to their bodies and modify the pose as necessary.
The class ends with a gentle cool-down and relaxation, leaving you feeling energised, balanced, and centred.
